On a night train in the middle of World War II, Göran von Otter receives one of the first testimonies about the Holocaust from a whistleblower within the SS, Kurt Gerstein. It film begins in the Holocaust and  will culminate in a modern story about personal and collective guilt.

Did they want society to look like this? The series accompanies marsh croft residents for five months to search for the answers to some of the questions.
